about
We are a working group with members interested in diverse mobile medical materials. This is digital forum to create and keep up research connections for future collaborations. Our group is open to academics, practitioners, policy makers, and healthcare system users with an interest in mobility and materiality of medical care, including movements and blockages of medical supplies, technologies, tissues, pharmaceuticals, and more. We hold monthly meetings and welcome new members and project ideas. |
materia medica minimas
Anthropologist Peter Redfield (2008) writes about the origins of 'humanitarian kit.' The Red Cross developed a list of "absolutely indispensible" medical equipment needed in the context of disaster. The resulting document, published in Latin, was the Materia Medica Minimas - inspiration for our work on mobile medical materials. |
